血细胞染色体核型分析可以提供染色体异常的信息，淋巴细胞通常不继续细胞分裂。在促分裂因子的存在下，淋巴细胞受刺激复制DNA进入有丝分裂。 经过48-72个小时，加入有丝分裂抑制剂，细胞停止在有丝分裂中期阶段。经过低渗，固定，染色，染色体可以用显微镜观察以评估其是否异常。高分辨率分析 在血液常规核型分析中是一种特殊的操作，提供了大量处于分裂后期或早中期的细胞分裂形态。在这个阶段，染色体长，机构不致密。G带出现后，染色体会呈现出 常规方法中不能检测到的条带。高分辨率为核型分析提供了更多的细节。
