LY293111 is a potent antagonist of leukotrine B4 repector (BLT₁) which inhibits the specific binding of radiolabeled-LTB₄ to this receptor (IC₅₀ = 17.6 nM). This further prevents LTB₄-induced chemotaxis of neutrophils (IC₅₀ = 6.3 nM). Additional in vitro studies have shown that LY293111 inhibits growth of MiaPaCa-2 and AsPC-1 cell lines and subcutaneous xenografts by inducing apoptosis and S-phase arrest.
