(±)-SKF 81297 is a selective agonist of the dopamine D₁-like receptor (K_i = 1.9 nM).¹ It demonstrates comparatively lower binding affinity for the dopamine D₂, dopamine D₃, serotonin 5-HT_2A, and adrenergic α₂ receptors (K_is = 1,272, >10,000, 955, and 509 nM, respectively).¹ Activation of dopamine D₁-like receptors by selective agonists such as (±)-SKF 81297 have been implicated in initiating a cascade of signaling events leading to reward-related incentive learning.²
